IIRC, they block 1A/B on those flights until two days before departure. I'd be targeting 1A, as it's one of the best seats in the cabin.
As for your question, forwards/backwards is much less important than the overall position. I would avoid 1D/G because they look straight into the galley and you'll be watching the carts and lav traffic throughout the flight.
