1) Hyatt booking I made is for a nonrefundable reservation, while the Priceline one was actually flexible cancellation (one night's deposit only). Hyatt didn't offer an equivalent or I would have selected the exact same terms.

2) Hyatt booking was a Stay 2 nights get the 3rd night free discount offer, while Priceline is just a cheap nightly rate.

In both instances, these are differences that favor the Priceline booking over Hyatt, so you would think it shouldn't matter. But we'll see, if I've learned anything from this thread it is to never expect or assume anything!
