Update in Hyatt BRG policy (April 2019): If your BRG claim is approved, you can choose either 5,000 World of Hyatt points or an additional 20% off the matched rate for your stay (defined as consecutive nights at the same location). Rates available on websites that require membership which is free of charge, or where membership is automatically created as part of the booking, are eligible for BRG claims.

Update in Hyatt BRG policy (July 2017): if your BRG claim is approved, Hyatt will match the comparable lower rate, but will no longer offer a further 20% discount on the matched lower rate. Instead, after your stay on the BRG approved rate, you will receive a US$50 credit (or equivalent amount in the currency of your country of residence) to use on a future stay (completed within 12 months) booked on a Standard Rate, Advance Purchase Rate or Member Rate on Hyatt.com.
Q. How do I receive the $50 credit?
A. About 3-4 days after your BRG stay, Hyatt will email you a unique rate code to apply for your new reservation. You can either click on the link in the mail to book the reservation or manually enter it into the booking at Hyatt.com.
Q. Can I use the code more than once?
A. No. The code is invalid when it has already been attached to a reservation.
Q. Can I use the code to lower a rate like AAA or Double Points?
A. No. The BRG code books into its own unique rate class and can't be used with any other promotional rates.
Q. What happens if I cancel my reservation with the BRG code applied?
A. The code will can be re-used for another reservation. For this reason, DO NOT DELETE THE EMAIL FROM HYATT UNTIL AFTER YOUR STAY.
Q. What happens if a lower base rate appears available after I book the BRG rate?
A. You can cancel the first reservation (assuming there's no penalty) and then rebook using the code for the lower rate.
.................................................. ..........
If you are dissatisfied with the response to your BRG claim, and it was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Omaha (9805 Q Street), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Nebraska Attorney General's Office (Consumer Protection Division). Note that the online complaint form requires you to fill in a correspondence address in the US (though you can state a preference to receive correspondence by e-mail rather than by post). As reported in Post # 2691, if the AG's Office decides to investigate, it is possible that Hyatt will review your BRG claim again and, in addition, offer points for the inconvenience.
If your BRG claim was processed by the Hyatt Service Desk in Marion (1120 North Carbon Street Suite 70), you can consider filing a consumer complaint (link to online form) with the Illinois Attorney General's Office.

I am seeing a couple of Hyatt rates on Concur that are about 5% cheaper than the Hyatt member rate. They are listed as "seasonal promo". Does Concur have a public facing site? Alternatively, is there an OTA that's likely to mirror Concur's rates?

concur is just a travel/expense platform that SAP sells to businesses. The rates you see on there are determined by what your company negotiated with Hyatt.

my claims were denied with following reason.
"...Thank you for your interest in our Best Rate Guarantee program. After researching the rate details you have provided, I was unable to validate your submission based on difference with the booking conditions as the third party requires payment upon booking. On your reservation with Hyatt, you were only required to provide a credit card to secure the reservation but your credit card wasn't charged yet. Your credit card will only be charged on the date of arrival...."
is this the legit reason?
(i got claims approved before with the same OTA and same payment condition as the current claim.)

First time using Prestigia and it worked!
Hotel: Andaz San Diego for 7 nights
Rate on Hyatt.com: $218/night
Rate on Prestigia.com: $213/night
Got 20% off at $170/night
Used the webform to submit my request but they were too slow, so I called the BRG department. Waited for 10 mins and got accepted

They didn't say anything about cancellation policy or payment restriction, but they said they didn't see the rate I found. If you don't like the result, you can always reply/call back....

Having never used Hyatt BRG, and not immediately seeing this info in the FAQ, I wonder about this scenario:
I have a booking made directly with Hyatt using a corporate rate.
I notice that the corporate rate has dropped on Hyatt.com but that my original booking has not been adjusted. So while I could rebook to get the lower rate, would BRG apply here?

they don't adjust rates, they would lose money. BRG only applies when you find a website that isn't Hyatt with a better rates. Hotels change their rates daily sometimes so just because they lower doesn't mean anything, it means you're watching the rate and you should rebook it.
Additionally a BRG never applies to a corporate rate you’d have to book (or rebook) at the Member or Standard Rate to submit a valid BRG.

I am in the US, and on my laptop used FindHotel to lead me to another site with a cheaper rate for a Hyatt. The agent could see this rate on FindHotel, but as soon as she clicked through it went up $90!!! I could click through and see the rate every single time. I closed all my windows and tried again--my rate is still there. I don't have accounts with these sites so it is not that I am signed in and seeing some kind of member rate. How is this possible? It's extremely frustrating. The rep said she had to be able to find the rate and a screenshot of what I was seeing would not help. I knew those were in the t&c's. Is there anything I can do? I can actually go all the way through to booking and paying for my rate, so I don't think it is a ghost rate. Thanks for any help.

As this would be a random sample and they would be able to tell you if they’re getting the same results as you or the agent.
I would definitely recommend doing this before pushing it further just so you know you’re on perfectly solid ground. If they all can get to the same page as you call in and ask for a BRG supervisor who will personally check again to try to validate the rate and BRG.

FindHotel isn't an OTA. It's an aggregator that checks out other OTAs on your behalf, with results often misleadingly displayed. In most cases, the OTA behind the scenes is Trip.com or something that will never be approved by Hyatt.
You also need to be using an incognito window to ensure relatively clean results.

Also I believe Findhotel you can actually book directly through them in some cases rather than having them send you to another site which is what usually happens. Not all bookings are eligible for it but I’ve had it a few times.

Just submitted my first BRG claim. I'm nervous lol. I feel it should be pretty cut and dry and it's a surprisingly steep discount (about 20% cheaper on Priceline vs Hyatt) The only potential stumbling blocks:
1) Hyatt booking I made is for a nonrefundable reservation, while the Priceline one was actually flexible cancellation (one night's deposit only). Hyatt didn't offer an equivalent or I would have selected the exact same terms.
2) Hyatt booking was a Stay 2 nights get the 3rd night free discount offer, while Priceline is just a cheap nightly rate.
In both instances, these are differences that favor the Priceline booking over Hyatt, so you would think it shouldn't matter. But we'll see, if I've learned anything from this thread it is to never expect or assume anything!
