Thanks for confirming, SEA_Flyer_17. Pretty sure I used to do this even a decade-plus ago, when the "Flight Credit" was just an unused 001 ticket, and the "Trip Credit" was a non-name-locked voucher. Incidentally, I never thought of it as a "trick"; it was just a permitted booking method under AA's rules. Agents would even talk about it upon a customer's request.
