When you look at your AA online wallet. are they FLIGHT credits or TRIP credits? If they are flight credits, they have to be used by the named passenger and are not transferable. If they are trip credits, you can give them to other people to use.
A work around to the flight credit issue if it's of value to you is to book a cheap one way flight like LAS-LAX, LAS-PHX, etc. These are typically in the $50 range. You can use google flights to search these kinds of things. Doesn't matter the date (as long as it's before your flight credit expires) since you won't be flying it. If that flight credit is $300, for example, and you book a $50 flight, you will immediately receive $250 in TRIP credit which will not only be extended another year but can be given to anyone to use. Yes, you will lose the $50 unless you intend to fly it but at least you get something back. At some point, cancel the $50 trip you don't intend on taking. That credit will come back to you, but still with same expiration as the original credit.
