You can't have a CSR when you're applying for the CSP. You need to downgrade it first to let's say a Freedom card, which will still preserve your points and then get the CSP. You can then transfer those original points to the CSP to get that value out of it and be able to transfer to travel partners.

I'll call and downgrade from CSR to Freedom Flex and then apply for the CSP at some point.
Any waiting period between the downgrade and the CSP? (I am well beyond 4 years of any Chase points/miles bonuses.)
And re: confirming that your experience has been that my current UR points will stay intact at the downgrade. (I saw a blurb at a bloggers site that CSP and CSR had a 'premium' UR program. Was not sure what that meant.)
