LATAM sure finds ways to screw things up... 🧐🤨
I know this because I flew LA806 in 2018. QF B747 over the southern polar route. The LA earning charts in Mileage Plan changed in July, 2018, for the worse. Most Y fares (except one or two deeply discounted fare classes) earned 100% EQM, I class earned a 25% COS & the LA codeshares on QF weren't excluded before the changes.
I booked my itinerary in March 2018 but existing itineraries were not grandfathered in. Of course, both QF & LA were oneworld alliance members at the time but AS was not so partnerships were independent of each other. AS did allow credit for the LA codeshare but denied the 25% COS on a subsequent SCL-MAD flight in I class. I flew around the world to get from ICN to NRT.
Also of note, if you fly the LA codeshare in Y, you will not have QF lounge access based on oneworld status.
I just wanted to highlight the exclusion so readers are aware that those two flight won't earn in Mileage Plan. Easy to overlook.
