In your situation, just take the commuter subway/S-bahn from FRA aéroport to Frankfurt Hbf. Surely you can do w/o seat résa for this 10mn stretch. Tickets for this you just buy upon arrival at the kiosk.
Then reserve your seats from Frankfurt to Paris Est. This is the only line that is shared as a partnership between SNCF and DB.
Ah, ok, thank you. I thought there was some good reason both SNCF and DB were directing me to use the Fernbahnhof to Mannheim instead of the Regionalbahnhof to Frankfurt Hbf before heading west to Paris (with SNCF site just blanking out the ability to buy), but based on your recommendation being your recommendation, I will take your recommendation.
