I suspect they deliberately do this to save whatever couple of dollars it costs to credit the 500 miles. Usually emailing them to request the mileage credit works, even though it's annoying.
Curious who did you email? Sixt or AA? I tried Sixt. They did reply but still no credit.
I recently rented from Sixt twice. The first time was credited automatically 500 miles to AA within 2 days of returning the car. The second time is missing.
