It's great to see that you put together a worthy trip to celebrate such a significant life achievement.

I think you booked wisely by paying for the room that you wanted in the Maldives. It's not the season for wishing for free upgrades; especially in these beach destinations at the moment.

As a funny data point, I also took my honeymoon in the Maldives. Although, I made MrsWT73 fly United Economy from IAD - DXB - DOH back in 2012 when United flew that route at the time. Air Canada Aeroplan Status Miles had to come from somewhere, and we got a good 50% elite bonus. That was indeed the last time we flew overseas in economy class and we've been fortunate enough to be in business class for the rest of the travels from that point on. All to say, Etihad Pearl Business isn't so bad by comparison. You could have been on their A320 product, which is much less exciting.

I'll be following in your footsteps in March 2023 travelling Q Suites back to Maldives for the third time. I'd also like to get to the Greek Islands. It's been a location that's evaded me for a little while.
