Ah, I miss Shinagawa, the Marriott was my usual haunt, and I had plenty of noodles among those little shops up the road from the station on the left side. Franky, I've had better sushi at that little stand-up counter inside the station than $100+ sushi meals here in California. Ironically, the only disappointing sushi I've ever had in Japan was at the ANA Lounge, which they should have been ashamed of, but it was probably more of a gimmick than a real try.
The sad thing is, Polaris-wise, is the Japanese special meals were actually among the best Polaris any-food I had on any route, even if the service was spotty, or I had to argue with the crew to get my pre-reserved Japanese meal that a GS was trying to steal because they were too lazy to reserve it for themselves.
