That absolutely is not Hyatt’s policy at all. Many many posters here can attest to that as well, being walked due to overcommitting just means re-accommodation. If you’re a true Glob you could possibly complain to MHC and get 5k points as compensation in addition to being re-accommodated. Some have even said they’ve been sent from a Hyatt to a Hilton that was owned by the same franchisee.
I’ve been walked at Hilton and was just sent to another nearby Hilton, no refund, no extra points even, and I’m a Diamond with them as well, not due to CC, actually earned with stays.
So I guess I’m not seeing where you’d even think someone would get a free 4 day vacation and Hyatt would pony up over 100k points due to a hotel error. It’s just ludicrous to think that. At absolute best they may, and this is even stretching it, comp 1 of the 4 nights, and that’s at absolute best escalation resolution.
