Exactly! We need to collectively get out of this insane mindset that one is “lucky” to even have their bags arrive. There is no purpose to elite status benefits if they aren’t adhered to.
My sense is that more than the usual number of people are unlucky, but otherwise things mostly work just fine. So yeah, agree totally. A lot of this is overblown even if issues do exist in the system.
The priority tag thing has in my experience always been unreliable, whether that was with AC, LH, KL, WS, or any other airline. I remember many years ago flying on Canadian Regional and looking out the window as we left the stand: my bag was sitting on the ramp with its priority tag. Apparently, they did not load some bags due to weight and balance issues and they did not care to choose non-priority bags over priority ones. That put an end to any notion I had that it meant something.
