When I lived in the area in the late 1970s my bicycle route to work included the length of the English Garden. It was a nice way to start and end the day, though I was initially a bit startled by the local habit of sunbathing and swimming naked. At one point some people tried to get it suppressed but the chief police office said that they would look ridiculous arresting naked people and declined to act. I also remember the Nymphenburg Palace grounds as a nice place to walk, I used to spend time in the tropical house to thaw out in winter.
