It's likely true that you cannot "get anything back" in the sense of a refund, but that doesn't tell you if the ticket still has residual value. You might ask on the LH forum if there is a way to see if you have a credit on the airline's website. it appears LH calls this a Flight Travel Voucher, FTV. Here are some threads:
