I connected in NRT outbound, took the nonstop back, just this month.
Adding 5-7 hours for a longer travel time plus connection and landing in SIN at 1am is nuts if price is equivalent.
Take UA Polaris but see if you can buy it as 2 1-ways to not get capped at 75k mile accrual.
SQ is overrated. UA is trashed here regularly, yet the bed, pillow, blanket, pad, PJs, and soft slippers are all great.
Also, NRT airport is super warm. As are NH planes. You’ll sweat enough in SIN no need to suffer enroute
