I was staying at the JW in Dubai and the front desk told me the latest they could do for me for a late checkout was 2:00 PM but that they could keep my room keys activated for the lounge (my flight didn’t leave until 1 or 2 AM.) While I was up in the lounge, I happened to mention this to one of the charming hostesses who immediately responded that I shouldn’t have gone to the front desk, I should have come straight to her. A quick phone call, some typing on her computer and I had my suite until 8:00 PM (and I felt really guilty because housekeeping had already turned it). I know a lot of people aren’t impressed with that hotel, but the staff is fantastic beyond belief, I found the lounge to be great, the pool was good, and the Thai restaurant… well, I’ve had better Thai food, but then I was feeling a bit under the weather on my trip there. I’d definitely stay there again!
