I was in NRT just over a week ago and it was almost as busy as pre-covid. The NH lounges were packed full, although that's been the case since April in my experiences. Many of the shops have re-opened recently as well.
Another vote for NH; I like the stopover and taking a shower is refreshing. However I would also consider departure and arrival times and how they fit your schedule.
