is this a one off? Because it’s certainly not as fast as scanning the passport at the kiosk.
btw, on separate issue there’s a small sign at front of line listing the various things you’re supposed to declare (plants, meats, etc.; currency; being on farm; etc )
It’s far from being a one-off, but it’s also not always how it goes. And the frequency of that passport checking of GE 2.0 users also seems to vary by airport of entry. At IAD they are more likely to ask me than at ORD.
