I don't think they'll take away the guaranteed late checkout benefit for elites anytime soon,,, but i've noticed that often Marriott makes these messages vague on apps/websites,, potentially in the hopes that some elites, who are less familiar with program T&Cs, will take that to be the rule and accept being denied a late checkout.

Well, someone mentioned that he (Titanium) was denied 4pm Late check out at Marriott Batam. This is one of the newest property and this is very worrying.
Either the hotel does not get proper training or they have been told late check out is not guaranteed by Marriott.
Of course I have no issue with late check out and I don't think I will have issue with this particular hotel as I have stayed at this hotel maybe 20 times.
