Thumbs up Attn: Network & IS Administrators

Hello, Anyone out there that controls a network at a school, business, or such? In another thread, we FT'rs have used our home or work based pc's/laptops to use idle processor time to try to develop medical breakthroughs, or possibly new medicines. It's a background program called Folding@Home from Stanford University; here's the website for details - http://folding.stanford.edu/ If you want to see how our 8 FT'rs are doing, go to statistics and type in team # 39124. We currently have 22 computers from 8 Flyertalkers that have done about 350 work units - not bad. Yet I hope it's just a beginning!

Ok, so why network administrators? You are the homeruns for us! Everyone in so far controls no more than 8 pc's. Someone out there reading this controls tens or hundreds of pc's, that probably sit idly for 50% of their worklife. So, let's put 'em to good use. All we need are a few IT/IS guys who make the decisions on some big networks to decide to do this. Anyone in?

If so, download the software, and configure it to be for team # 39124. Resist the pleas from other so called "better organized groups" on this board to join them!! We don't need fancy graphs, we need a true Flyertalker team! In case you want to see the original thread that got this going, here it is: http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthrea...t=folding+home
