Yeah even in the past, that was the type of plane used.
To avoid that, I did the trip via SGN, connecting then with VN (it was really nice, at the time).
I don't think though the SGN flight is operating right now.
Maybe you can consider a rerouting with KLM, at least the 777 has a full-flat seat, though in a 2-2-2 configuration.
