It's somewhat interesting what they're called in different regions...
North America: Free range chicken
Philippines: Native chicken
Singapore/Malaysia (and likely Indonesia and Brunei): kampung chicken
Don't remember where they call it village chicken, I just know that people have mentioned it.
Essentially all the same thing, but not quite the same terms.
