Sorry your room wasn't ready. Sunday is the worst day to check in at this property since they are always rammed full on weekends and elites would technically be allowed to check out later on Sunday, with a resulting delay to housekeeping. That said, I have never experienced much elite recognition there as Platinum or Titanium. While I'm sure others will chime in with stories how they get upgraded every time, I have always received the exact room I reserved on every stay unless offered a cash upgrade at check-in. I do hope you enjoy the rest of your stay; it's a very nice spot.
