Noted, although if I may suggest 35 years is a long time, even in Windsor. If I had time to kill between two flights and it was a nice day, I’d be tempted to go to Windsor but do the Long Walk and back for fresh air and nice views. Alternatively get the bus to the south end of the Great Park and wander round there. Judicious studying of the bus timetable (you’d want First route 8, £8 for a day ticket) would allow a combination of both.
Other more quirky suggestions would include a bus up to Beaconsfield for the model village (and a good lunch in town) or even a rollercoaster ride at Thorpe Park, should you be into that kind of thing.
