Every transborder flight including mine seemed to be delayed for hours waiting for dozens of pax to clear international to USA customs. They had AC staff manning security, helping out where possible, and pulling people up who's flights were already 1-2 hours past push time because they weren't going to hold them much longer. This delay on my flight led to a substantial delay of an hour at SFO too, so we arrived at the gate 2 hours and 55min late, just shy of the time needed for compensation -- kind of interesting how they found a gate right then.
Honestly, this plus YYZ issues makes me seriously rethink international-USA flights on AC.
Was this USA connections or did you go landside?
Couple of weeks ago on a Friday afternoon, CBP was busy processing connections that they even held up Global Entry/NEXUS. Regular processing from landside was >45 minutes.
