I beleive for just a few hours and if not going to town I will chose to use the transit hotel if I figure out what that is. Or I will try to extend my layover until next day but that also depends on how much extra will Air Canada charge me (maybe 5k points for adding a stopover in Business class?) and if there's availability.
I don't think the transit hotel will work for you for the same reason it didn't work for me. Because it is post-security, you must be through security at the D gates by 10:30pm. After that, you can't get to it. I originally had it booked but I emailed them with my flight time and asked (landing at 10pm) and they said I most likely wouldn't make it so I booked the Radisson. I guess it depends on where your flight lands. I was also coming in from a Schengen country.

Transit Hotel is located next to Gates D, 1st floor at the non-Schengen area (no visa needed). The Transit Hotel’s reception is manned round the clock.
The boarding pass and security check are open until 22:30, and passport control until 23:00 and as of 5:30 (access possible only with a boarding card and only with hand luggage).
Please note that access to and from the Transit Hotel is not possible from the Schengen area between 23:00 and 5:30
