Passport Control, use eGate at Schipol if American returning home?
I have a connecting flight coming up at Schipol airport in Amsterdam. I will be arriving from Italy (Schengen) and connecting to the US (ATL) so I will have to go through Passport Control. I have a recently issued American passport which should have a chip in it.
Can I use the eGates to go through passport control at this airport or do I need to go through a different line? What is the process, please? I know people with EU passports can use these but I'm not sure about American passports.
Also, I'm arriving on KLM business class and departing on Delta in Delta One. Are there separate Passport Control lines for first class?
Any insight into the process, especially from anyone who's traveled through AMS on the way to the US recently would be very, very much appreciated.
Thanks!
