Looks like I was one of the first people to be contacted by AC reading through this again (way back earlier in the thread) and it seems they are finally catching up to the rest now... I really hope they get everyone who cheated this match. After proving myself, AC did send me a physical status package for 2022 (not 2021) through the mail at my Scottsdale condo (which I reside now FT and not back and forth between YYC anymore since covid restrictions are gone). I only received this package months and months later after verification.

As someone who benefitted from the promo --- I think this should have been a proper status challenge like all the other airlines. One round trip was FAR too generous and easy for CDN residents to do a quick domestic hop. Making it a US-Canada-US R/T requirement or something at least transboarder based would have made more sense too. Plus it would have deterred many non US residents from making a random transboarder trip with covid testing and restrictions in place at that time.

But in the end, AC probably should not have run this promo at all if they were going to do it this way. It frustrates even me that people think it's an inconvenience that AC is trying to verify so I can't imagine how all the people who held status with AC prior feel. This promo was overly generous so doing over the top due diligence should have been a no brainer. The fraudsters and AC are DEFINITELY to blame but statusmatch.com takes the most blame for actually not checking for even the status match. Everything was just terribly executed from the start, and they are trying to fix it AFTER all this mess. At least they are trying to do something.

I have done 0 domestic flights with AC in 2022(all transboarder narrowbody) and probably will hit only 50K if im lucky, most likely 35K for 2023. Looking at current flight loads, I feel for the legit elites who are trying to use valued E Ups during peak period and current travel explosion... Even the US flights J space is quite slim. Can't imagine feeling like having to compete with fraudsters using e ups on the transcon/intl routes with lay flats with low R space.. I'm surprised they are taking this long considering I got contacted pretty quickly after the promo. It's already May 2022... Regardless, I'm still happy they are still trying to do something.

The most benefit I have received is *G status --- as I'm flying mostly UA/COPA and it gives me domestic lounge access at their club and *G benefits. It's been lovely. All the other US residents I know that applied for this promo are almost exclusively using their new AC status for *G lounge access for US based flights... No one has touched e ups and some haven't even flown AC in 2022.
