No.1: Check that you actually bought directly from AF or KL.
No.2: Check *which* airline you bought directly from...check the e-ticket. If from AF (057) you must request from the AF website, if from KL (074) you must request from the KL website - preferably from the country version of the website corresponding to the country in which your eticket was issued.
Both fair points, but I bought the ticket through KL, with 074 stock, and tried to submit the request on KL's website, using the refunds link from the US site (where I purchased it from). No luck.
