No matter what China does, Omicron will win out. My wife and I were vacinated (Moderna) and had 4 additional boosters (Moderna). About 10 days ago, she flew EWR-TPA and the next morning came down with Covid. She transmitted it to me and I was positive 2 days after her. So when they say it is highly contagious, it is an understatement. The theroy that this does not end until virtually everyone gets it is probably correct..This has the potential for a disaster in China and, by extension, the rest of the world.
Note: That both Sondra and I were put on Paxlovid and symptoms abated within 2 days. Truly a wonder drug. If anyone hs the ability to source some and put it away 'just in case", it is worth considering.
