Thanks for reply, I got 2 questions may need your further replies:
1. As long as the ticket has been cancelled, how to proceed the check-in process? or the whether the CI counter can do something for a cancelled booking? could you please help to advise?

2. standby ticket does mean the passenger holds a valid booking then s/he can get a standby ticket at CI counter, is this correct?
If yes, then it comes back to my question: the number of passengers in the CI counter queue shall less than the numbers of ticket (coz there are over cancellation). If so, why the passengers in the queue holding the standby ticket could be refused to get onboard.
Sorry I didn't get the logic.
I appreciate if you can help to further explanation.

Will strive to find a way from Air Canada to keep my seat in-advance rather than calling them after my ticket getting cancelled as the final try.
