If you currently have no status, you will find it extremely difficult to attain EXP solely by flying. Fortunately there are many more ways to regain status now. Check out these threads and you will find them. As an example, I have nearly 150K LPs already without having set foot on a plane this year, at a cost of a little over $2K.

Exactly this. I don't have 150K LPs yet, but I have about 55K, mostly from just checking AA Eshopping whenever I buy something, and then buying it through the portal.

For example -- With about $3K in purchasing things I'd purchase anyways in just the last 2 weeks, I've gotten 16,000 LPS. And I'm not spending a dime I wouldn't already spend. If you need to get LPs for low costs, there are lots of opportunities for big yields.
