I arrived at the Boston, Newton Marriott on Friday at 09:30
  • When I was picking up my car, I asked how the "closed on Saturdays" was handled for a Friday 24 hour rental
  • The agent was all too familiar with the process
  • There is an after hours dropbox at the front desk for the key and a copy of the rental agreement
  • The system will automatically bill for a second day (or 3rd day if closed for both Saturday & Sunday) as the reservation is still considered open until the agent closes it out
  • The agent adjusts the reservation the next day they are open (in this case Sunday)
  • I received an email showing a two day rental as the system takes closed Saturdays to returning on Sunday
  • I received a second email showing the retal was adjusted to correctly reflect the one day rental
Just as a reminder, this does not apply to all other locations. This location’s manager actually bothered to compare all these contracts to the original reservations (all the contracts are not closed out by computer though, it’s just the time on the first receipt wasn’t manually changed to the previous day and they corrected it after. Local locations have time limit to do this change though, after a certain time only cooperate can change it), but many many places wouldn’t do it even you request.
