This works for pax coming from Schengen countries. However non-Schengen pax (the former 2B gates, more or less) are funneled directly into PAF then baggage claim. I don't think there is any connection facility, meaning that OP will end up clearing PAF as if CDG was the final destionation, leaving the sterile zone and re-rentering at the central (2B/2D) checkpoint upstairs, before reclearing PAF on the way to the former 2B gates.
This would be a problem for people not allowed into Schengen area, so there must be a way (same as in 2E) to connect without entering Schengen area.
This would not mean however that there is no security control before reaching the departure area. In fact, it is more than likely that there will be security control.
