aisleorwindow: SeatGuru shows rows 11-16 as MCE on our flight, and I'm sure that those were the seats we paid for.
TravelerMSY: Nobody pays for MCE in order to just get greater seat pitch per se; they pay to obtain some benefit made possible by the extra seat pitch. There are several possible advantages to having extra pitch, and one of them is extra legroom, but that can be negated if the underseat space in an MCE seat is less than the underseat space in a corresponding regular MC seat. On the AA site they list "Extra legroom" as one of the advantages, and their tagline is "A little more of everything."
Just to be clear, I don't have any problem if the underseat space for 21C is identical to that in 13C. But my experience suggested that maybe the underseat space in 13C was less than 21C due to the entertainment hardware, which would run counter to the "A little more of everything" sales pitch.
I would have posted links, but am prevented since I'm a new forum member.
