Did you review the A321 seating guide here on FT prior to travel? It is on the first page of this forum:

FT'ers give honest opinions on the best seats. Even if I don't post, I'll usually review the last few pages of the appropriate thread when I select seats for travel.

A321T/L-AA 319 were to keep the PTVs.
I can’t say for sure, just going by the Aerolopa IFE information. But I just realized that I might have read it wrong in that the BYOD streaming was just an additional option.

MeHowie Did both flights have seat-back screens?

No, I did not, but that's a good idea and I'll try to do that in the future. I'm not sure it would've helped me out in this particular case, as I don't notice anything obvious about the entertainment equipment boxes on the diagram.
