I looked on Expert Flyer and there was no mention of the boxes.

Poster above mentioned that Seat Guru would have told about the boxes being present in some circumstances.

I agree with you that the boxes are pain, but the unfortunately not part of what you buy with "Main Cabin Extra" as I am using it April 28th and deliberately asked for a bulkhead Exit row to maximize the leg room.
