So for those in China, serious question: how come you haven't gotten out?
Is it that you didnt' think it was so bad, that they wouldn't lockdown a big city like Shanghai (and then Shenzhen got locked down)?
Obviously you know the government cares naught for individual people by now, if you've been there for a while. This is nothing new, and in line with everything the Chinese government stands for.

I saw one poster who said wife stayed behind cause of work. Why? Why would you? So what about work?
Are the expats in Shanghai not financially well off that they were talking about saving some money on flights? If the situation is so bad why bother thinking about the upgrades to business?

I know when I was travelling when COVID broke March 2020 that I didn't care about flying in a premium class, and the amount of money required to get a ticket wasn't anywhere near the top of my mind.
