Oddly, I'm in a similar boat - I have a very European last name that no one ever gets "right". By right, I mean how my family and I say it. I'm convinced that my family isn't saying it correctly or anywhere close to how people from its country of origin would say it. I tried to get my family to change how they pronounce it, but no one would bite :-)

Thank goodness, my name isn't plastered all over every city across the globe :-)
