I am very disappointed in United. Is there any workaround that we missed?
I admit that the United Club access rules are a bit tough to follow -- depending on the class of service / departing airline from LHR / *A status of the traveler there are differences.

If the departure was on a non *A member I could see them denying entry as they usually treat their lounges as "Departure" lounges...

Am I correct that I won't be be able access any *A lounge even with *A Gold status because Vistara is not *A even if it is a United partner.
If you are in Polaris Business Class then you should be allowed into the United lounge on arrival, otherwise I believe you are correct -- no lounge access since you are departing on a non *A partner...
