I do this pretty frequently with the SS VGCs in my area and don't have any problems. One of the grocery stores in my area that I buy SS VGCs carries the $5.95 fee cards in abundance and I'll throw a couple extra in my pocket to use at the CVS stores in my area that are often out of SS VGCs or only have OneVanillas.
Once of the managers at a FD I load my Serve cards at also gave me 100 of the $4.95 fee SS VGCs there for $20 since she said "no one ever buys them here anyhow" when I propositioned her to sell me some of them at her store. I value these pretty highly since they can be purchased/loaded at a common gas station chain in my area and I have some good "gas" multiplier cards for cash back, airline miles, and hotel points. Unfortunately the chain tends to be out of the $4.95 load fee SS VGS most of the time so I have to get them and bring them in from somewhere else, but if they are in stock I just buy them there.
Thanks thats exactly what I was looking for. I wonder what would happen if you loaded a brand of vgc that wasn't sold at the gas station normally. In my experience, ssvgc have been the easiest to unload and one of the gas stations I'm thinking of only have the 20-200 denominations. So do you think bringing a 20-500 variety and loading it there would cause any issues?
