That was from 2013. I highly doubt that everything has remained the same since then. I feel another discussion nearly 10 years later is appropriate.

I appreciate the concern but I made sure in my opening post to CLEARLY state: "
all the while making sure its a brand that both stores carry". I also included "if I ask the manager" ie asking for permission, to prevent any kind of moral ambiguity and, more importantly, to hope that other posters here didn't feel obligated to share their objections or state the obvious that shoplifting is bad. I can only hope that further posts going forward are dedicated to other users' experiences, not their opinions on the matter which plagued the other thread mia linked.
I can say first hand that I've been able to load amazon gc's given from one gamestop at another, but I've never tried it for different stores (gamestop to safeway). I was hoping some others may have experience with that and maybe even with vanilla vgc's that a lot of stores carry. I can't imagine incomm codes each individual card to only be loaded at the one specific store location for that matter.
