On a Christmas Day flight, I was flying with Mrs. tardyturtle and the kids on separate PNRs. I and one of the kids got upgraded post boarding just prior to door close. The gate agent came on board, addressed me by name, and handed two boarding passes. I offered the upgrades to Mrs. tardyturtle, but as we were already settled in with the kids, she declined. Before I could ask the GA to give the upgrade to the next on the list, he was gone.

In the seats in front of me was a GM and a traveling nurse who had just worked a bunch of all nighters and was exhausted and told her seat mate how much she needed sleep. Not wanting the upgrade to go to waste, I asked the two if they would like our seats in First. I handed them the boarding passes, and they made their way to the front.

I then spent the whole flight paranoid that I gave them my boarding passes, and that they could mess with my return if they wanted to, since they had all the information they would need.

At baggage claim, the two pax again thanked me—the nurse said she had never flown in First Class before and it seemed she had enjoyed a couple of cocktails. By that point, after my good deed, I figured I had nothing to worry about.
