Non-Indian citizens have fewer restrictions than Indian citizens and technically this is not allowed to fly to US. BUT, there is a twist here for US Citizens since they don’t need a visa to enter France.

Technically, you can fly AF to France if you have valid entry permit to enter France or other allowed countries via France that does not include US. That satisfies the literal bubble rule for US citizens since they don’t need a French Visa to enter so the US passport is the valid entry permit. If you just happen to skip entering France and carried on, no one is going to tell India. So, AF should happily allow this. In the worst case, one may have to make the above argument.

But this can be problematic for elders IF some idiot at check-in denied it and not savvy enough to argue about it.
