I had previously been able to select seats on a CX award booking, but had inadvertently selected a backward facing seat for the +1 and then couldn't change them anywhere. Just checked the QR site and found we had itinerary changes (leaving slightly earlier but still arriving around the same time), but now the modify seat selection button is available and I was able to fix them.
