Was looking for a ANA deal using Virgin Atlantic but sounds impossible to accomplish. I know I want to get a biz ticket to Japan, should I open a ANA account and deposit the points there? Any other options where I’d get more value than my Delta account?

If you'd like to have more time to decide where to transfer them you can downgrade to a Green card that has a much lower annual fee or open an Amex Everyday card. Both of these will retain your MR points balance.
