Tipping a Manager?
I've done a search & haven't found this addressed. We just checked into a 5 star hotel in Paris, our second visit, using solely points. The Guest Services Manager came out, introduced himself, got us upgraded from the room we were confirmed in, provided us complimentary drinks in the bar while we waited for our room, when my husband pulled out a 4 night suite upgrade. he found us a wonderful suite for 5 nights, took us on a tour of another one to ensure we liked it, cancelled a lunch reservation, sent us to a nearby friend's restaurant where we were treated like royalty, called constantly to rush housekeeping to get our suite ready when the people in it were late to check out, escorted us to the suite & showed us the items a valet normally would; basically spent the good part of the day ensuring we were happy - went over & above any service we've ever experienced in a hotel. I know managers normally aren't tipped, but what would you do in this case?
