With all the "celebrations" surrounding the end of Concorde service, I haven't really read anything about the responsibility of Continental for the Paris disaster that started the downward spiral.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it a part of a CO DC-10 that fell off onto the runway and burst the AF Concorde tire? I also recall reading that if a piece of one aircraft falls off and damages the other, the former airline is responsible for the accident.

........ But I'm left wondering that if CO had taken better care of its crappy DC-10, Concorde would still be flying.</font>

Actually Continental (and Goodyear etc) ARE being sued over the AF crash.

The Florida lawsuit also names plane manufacturers McDonnell Douglas Corp., Aerospatiale Matra Inc. and BAE; Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.; Boeing Co., the maker of the DC-10 that lost the metal piece; General Electric, the engine manufacturer; and Middle River Aircraft Systems, builder of the thrust reverser whose part fell off the Continental jet.
