Traveling in paid F and surprised that you are not allowed ot interact with anyone for check in, I always need a paper boarding pass for my records and dislike using the machines. If there was a way to use them without having to touch them so much it might be better, but I prefer giving my ID to an agent and being given a boarding pass. Does this bother anyone else? Anything to be done about it? I'm thinking of getting a mobile boarding pass and asking for a paper pass at the gate but not sure if they also discourage that? Unfortunately there is no UA Club at TPA to help with this, so UA might actually be a bad fit for me. Although everything else I thought was same or better than AA and I especially enjoyed the UA app and the flatbed from TPA to IAH.
You can print your BP via olci or have it emailed save as pdf etc. So many ways to get a copy for your records if that is really the goal here. My preference is avoiding interaction since it takes time. The app and online tools save a lot of time in most cases.
